Inner Peace
By Brian Satterfield
There is conflict on the Earth that cannot be ignored nor denied.
Terror is loose in the world. The War on Terrorism is raging on and
seems to be escalating out of control. Young men and women are
losing their lives needlessly every day while the lightworkers watch in
horror and seem to be unable to do anything about it. A huge rift has
formed in America and fence sitters are being cut in two by the
sharpness of the division. On one side sits the notion that war is a bad
thing to be avoided. On the other side is the fear that the terrorists
may attack us where we least expect and they must be dealt with.
Who are the terrorists?
Terrorists are people who play on fear by bombing and other methods
of fighting. The symbols of terrorism seem to have acquired a life of
their own. Our fears are banding together and forming a mass which
demands attention now.
The War on Terror was sold to the American people after 9-11 as a
cure for these fears. Many people have fallen under the illusion that
this cure would work. It hasn't. It really is nothing more than a witch
hunt. The same witches from the middle ages have changed forms
now, and refuse to be burned out of existence. They are the same
witches who have plagued and vexed the authorities all through time
and until they are controlled, the authorities feel there is no rest or
security. The citizens of this country have given their own power to
fighting terrorists. But power is not enough, now they tell us to win
the war on terror we will have to sacrifice some of our liberties as well.
A hard look inside.
The outer world reflects a division in the inner world of our spirit. The
split must be healed so that there may be peace on the planet. This is
important and cannot be lightly passed over or ignored. I am asking
even the most accomplished metaphysical thinkers to take another look
inside and not to glaze over or deny the importance of these recent
events.
We are rolled up into camps inside ourselves and we would like to
think we have the position of the “good guys.” We are identifying with
those favorite thoughts of peace, ease and prosperity. It is only
natural that we want to remain positive and get rid of thoughts of lack
and unrest. We push away all discordant thoughts as being bad or
negative. We fight with weapons of anger and blame against the
intruding thought.
Those “Bad guys” thoughts intrude nonetheless. The specter of fear
and separation makes us believe that we are sorely outnumbered and
under gunned. These thoughts may have not always been so labeled
but through constant rejection and guilt, have become twisted and
despised to our sight. These monsters of our own creation have
retreated to the farthest reaches of mind and have set up fortresses
with formidable defenses from which they practice their revenge and
trickery. Our own inner denial of thoughts cause them to camouflage a
part of ourselves as an enemy.
Using the analogy of the garden of mind, the thoughts we have labeled
as undesirable could be considered like weeds, pests, and bugs. Our
first thought is to get rid of them. We discard and uproot important
thoughts we have , regarding them as annoyances. Often they have
roots that run everywhere. Chopping them out does‘t work because
even if one rootlet gets missed, a whole new weed is produced. They
will quickly adapt to pesticides and eat all the beauty we have tried to
create. They will take over the inner garden and choke it out of
existence and constantly need attention for if left alone, they will ruin
our “inner peace.”
We have attempted to arrange the inner garden in a way that we were
told is the right alignment. And while it does make a definite statement
that appears intelligent and orderly, there always seems to be some
kind of hard work to keep it that way.
How to achieve true inner peace.
True inner peace is effortless. The concept of inner peace is something
that is well known to students of metaphysics. We are told by teachers
and their philosophies that inner peace is desirable and necessary. We
are also taught in some systems to achieve inner peace by “stilling the
mind.” That is a good place to begin. However, a mind that is too still
cannot get the flexibility it needs to operate smoothly.
The first step to true inner peace is to call a cease fire on the perceived
“enemy.” We know that those on the other side think they are the
“good guys.” Now is time to drop the judgment; there are only “guys”
on both sides and neither is good nor bad.
Many thoughts suffer from being out of their places. Yes, thoughts
have their places too, even ones heavily judged against. Once they are
realigned, harmony can reestablish itself.
In the analogy of the inner garden, now is the time to stop trying so
hard. Begin working another way with the denizens of the garden.
Recognize yourself in the weeds you are uprooting and realize that by
getting rid of them, you are attempting to get rid of yourself. Ask
where the energy really belongs. Every thing has a purpose or it would’
t be there at all. Find new purposes and use them in your new
arrangement.
Chaos may look scary, but in the bigger picture, it begins to have
another order. Under high zoom objects become little squares of
colored light. These little squares or pixels are not in a recognizable
order until the zoom resolves them back into a bigger picture. We are
struggling with an unreal view of reality, because the bigger picture
was not available. The Divine Plan is the real bigger picture. A bigger
view is now coming to light, understandable to far sighted people such
as the readers of this document. It resolves the pixels to show that we
are all where we belong.
Inner Armistice: Declare Peace
After the inner armistice, a close study of issues could be undertaken.
Here we have the help of the Higher Self and the Spirits and Guides of
Highest Good. These Spirits have the power to help us resolve conflicts
if we let them do their work and we can resist the temptation to try to
direct the process. Consciousness has suffered from too much focus
on the “wrongness” and not enough vision of the overall picture.
Another way of healing these fears is to give full validity to them and
to feel them. Pick a safe spot to release and express these fears within
the loving presence of the Angels of Light. Be ready to accept these
feelings as wounded and guilt bound at first. With the help of the
Angels it is easy to heal them and allow them to take their right places
within yourself.
After the inner conflict has been resolved, there may still appear to be
a war in the outer world as depicted in the nightly news, but you will
be significantly reduced as a cause of it. Your power may be now used
to find peace rather than raging against war. More and more, the outer
conflict becomes unreal to your inner senses and reduces your
participation. This may seem like flying by way of tugging sharply
upwards on one’s own bootstraps, but really it is only the balance of
the heart that will bring balance to the world.
This life long process is no harder for you than it is for an eagle to
spread its wings and soar on the warm air updrafts, spiraling to
unimagined heights and superb views.
I will see you aloft…
